    While leading as a Special Education Director, circumstances required that I assume leadership of an intensive services program of the district. While in this setting I began to investigate how race and gender of students and adults were impacting work conditions and services being provided.

    After serving in the K-12 setting, I transitioned to an educational non-profit. This writing provides an example of my leadership tilling, being my authentic self in a all organization leadership team meeting, pushing against white normative ways of interacting, and reshaping organization wide conversations.

    As an extension from the initial organizational conversations, I was invited to participate in three separate research studies focused on Black Executive Leadership and thriving in the workplace. This writing details those studies and my growth as a result of participating.
